Hey guys, since the meetup

Hey guys, since the meetup site is broken today, I figured this was about my last chance...
Apologies for the late notice, but Andy Drummond can't do the stall today (he's in bed snoozing), and neither can Gayle or I. If there's still people wanting to do a stall, and no tables to be found, you are welcome to come over and fetch some stuff. I'm not feeling too great today, so there's not much chance of me coming to help out :(
PM me if you need my number.

A very warm hello to all in the Scotland Chapter. :)

Hi to all in the Scotland chapter, I hope you are all well. My name is Robert and from Irvine. I have just recently joined the movement as I advocate all that TZM stands for.

TVP? It is a fact that a RBE is the only way forward.. makes for both logical and ecological sense.. and that decisions are arrived at in this system and advocate this also. But sadly the minds behind this particular project are too self absorbed and too dictatoristic as in terms of ownership, direction and morals.. just look at what happened with the partnership we as a movement had with this project and what dissolved it after selfless advocation from certain individuals throughout.

With regards to my religious beliefs, I am not religious at all.. as no matter how much we pray, it will not solve this damage caused to our planet or its inhabitants.. no offence guys.. just one's opinion.

I will be chairing the Scotland Teamspeak 3 chapter meeting on 5th July which will be a first for me so I hope it goes well.. hopefully you will all be able to make the meeting as I personally would like to hear from people who are in the Scotland chapter sharing any of their ideas, chapter updates or just to simply be part of the change you want to see. There is also the UK chapter meetings on Teamspeak 3, Mondays at 9pm which provide a larger scope of sustainable ideas that the members share and could be useful as the transition continues its slow, dragged out and wasteful use of resources.

There is also the fact that we need to expand and strengthen our chapter and work as a team as to not let all admin and duties fall on certain individuals and the one thing that I know from expierience is that Scotlands people are one of the best in the world for team effort and spirit with regards to anything.. ok, maybe not football then.. but certainly this advocation for social change (freedom!) using awareness and a technological systems approach to sustainability for future societies.

Hope to hear from all in the Scottish chapter soon.
Peace to all the worlds people. :)

introduction

hi my name's Will, i am from Edinburgh. I got interested in the Zeitgeist movement through the movies, i was a conspiracy theory enthusiast not because i believed them to be true but for entertainment value, so when i saw the first movie i thought "yeah yeah heard it all before", but then i watched addendum and it opened my eyes, it all clicked in to place, most of what's wrong with the world is down to our socio-economic system.
It took me a while to join the ZM because at first i wasn't convinced about the Venus Project; cybernated government?! WTF!!! but this was just my distorted cultural values getting in the way of well logic and reason and the more i researched TVP the more i believe this is the future we need to strive for.

Is this the torrent for the compilation DVD? I tried it before in Bitlet (browser based) and it never worked, got it d/l in utorrent now and seems to be working.

I notice it's called Addendum3.iso, I seriously hope this isn't just the Zeitgeist Addendum movie as I already have that!

@ Zen

Feckin hung on to the DVD you gave me at the stall all night, then left it in a cafe the next morning - doh!

religion and conspiracy theories

A resource based economy and a scientific approach to earth management are good ideas. I wish the ZGM would stick to these themes and forget about religion and conspiracy theories. It should also detach itself from the works of Acharya, as this woman is a fraud. I think the ZGM's treatment of religion and conspiracy theories only damage the movements credibility, as it's comments on these subjects are inaccurate. I know this because I have researched these subjects. Incidentally, I am not a religious person.

What conspiracy theories is

What conspiracy theories is it you speak of Ben? The 911 conspiracy? The Christ myth conspiracy? Do you propose that Christ actually DID exist and that a group of Saudi hijackers, some of which are alive and well, flew hijacked jets into WTC and the Pentagon and had Norad stand down for the day? I think common sense dictates the answer to those questions. The fact that our corrupt society is based on lies of such proposterous scale is kind of the whole foundation of ZM, is it not? Yes, we all (at some point) have to move on - hence the new movie titled 'Moving On' - instead of just banging on about things we know are just a lie. But let's never forget that such ridiculous and damning lies were told by corrupt powers for the purpose of keeping us all in place and furthering their ambitions to rule the world!

You have a very valid point -

You have a very valid point - and I think for the most part TZM is moving on from the Conspiracy theories - evolving towards being more focused on solutions than highlighting problems. We have to recognise, however, than many people start their journey of awakening through these so called conspiracy theories - many of which you have to realise are not theories any more but rather fact, such as the economic hit man and some of the false flag operations the governments are now admitting to. So many people who first come into the movement will be coming in with that angle and will cling onto that for a while before they too move on.

I have listened to Acharya on several blog talk radio interviews and I find it difficult to believe she is a fraud. She has studied her material for most of her adult life and done the actual excavations, etc in the places she writes about. I have not studied those topics in any depth but it seems to me that there is a lot of room for disagreement amongst scholars.

In the end, these topics are interesting for discussion but they do not or should not dilute the message which is that we all want/need: clean air, water, nutritious food, health care and a relevant education and the best way we know of to achieve this is with the scientific method and a resource based economy.
