Thought I would introduce myself.
I am Chris and I live in North Hertfordshire. I work as a Technical Writer/Instructional Designer.
I was introduced to TZM about 2 weeks ago when a friend pointed me to the first Zeitgeist Movie.
Despite being less than impressed with the first section (not because I am religious just because I felt it was "stretching" a little" I was very interested in the second and third sections dealing with 9/11 and the Monetary system. I watched Addendum avidly and found it t be utterly fascinating.
Since then I have been slowly consuming all I can on the various subjects of the monetary system and the resource based economy alternative with a growing incredulity as to how so many of us carry on blithely unaware of slavery that most of us are subjected to and how things could be if we could only make that shift.
I suppose like many I have had a feeling for as long as I've been able to rationalise these things that something seemed "wrong" with the way things are, the "System" as it were, but never being able to articulate it.
Suffice it to say that I am so glad to have found these films and the rest of the material that supports their basic theses.
I am also pleased to find that a movement exists to try and enact real change to the status quo and I hope to throw whatever meagre skills I have into the mix to help push this idea forward.
looking forward to conversing with you all!
Chris
Hi Chris - good to have you with us.
There is an active group of members in Hertfordshire - I believe they have meetings at a particular venue in Herts once every other week but could not be more accurate than that (I'm from Ipswich). If you message either Dave, Crazyvanman (Rob) or pac3mak3r (Blake), all 3 members are from Herts and I'm sure they'll let you know when their next meeting is.
In the mean time, we as a Chapter in East Anglia have a few developments at the moment. The main thing we're concentrating on now is the film screening of the new Zeitgeist film called "Moving Forward" (you can watch the trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYLLFpNn4lM). The closest screenings to you would be one in Bishops Stortford, and another in Welwyn Garden City. There's info on screenings within the East Anglia forum here: http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/forum/topic/2623
Also you're welcome to join us at our next online East Anglia meeting. We use an application called Team Speak to communicate over the net - you can download it here for free: www.teamspeak.com
Then just follow the info here regarding setting it up: http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&...
We typically have these meetings once every 2 weeks. The next one is scheduled for this coming Sunday 5th December. If you have already joined the 'East Anglia Group' here: http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/og then you will receive regional updates on the Chapter's progression/developments/times of meetings etc.. A message is usually sent out a couple of days before the online meeting to confirm the time and any agenda points to raise.
In the mean time, I appreciate there's a lot of info to take in not only on this website but on the global site as well so if you have any questions then don't hesitate to make a post here or send a private message. Hope all this info helps. Also you can join our group on facebook where we post regular updates: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=139064599455152
