Hi,
I’m new to the site after researching for possible alternatives to the current status quo. The short bio below gives an overview of where I’m at, it’s not a must read but hey, this gives me an opportunity to vent my thoughts:
I have been self teaching myself for quite a while now after becoming progressively more pessimistic about the world in which I live, even though I am fortunate enough to lead a relatively secure/happy life. I’m a manufacturing engineer for a multi-national bluechip company and use critical thinking daily as part of my role. Once I started to do this in everyday life that’s when most things started to get on my nerves and I lost all sense of who I was and what I believed in.
I’m not religious but I tried at first to figure out why, and if there was a religion I could follow and appreciate. Conclusion: there’s too many for any one of them to be ‘the’ true word of a single GOD like individual. I now believe they have all adapted from a single appreciation of nature and the creation of GODS and Heaven & Hell were our ancestor’s way of making sense of the world. Religion has developed into the best mechanism for social control and the leaders i.e Church have capitalised massively and robbed the poor sods that need something to believe in.
I then moved onto to my absent political views. This was a very short period of research culminating in the view that; they all have the same agenda, the policies are vague, the schoolboy antics that can be seen in the House of Commons is embarrassing and the spending scandal topped it off. Paper backed academics that are taught the loopholes to feathering their own nests.
I then started down the road of economics thinking to justify what was going on and read Freakonomics (Steven Levitt). I totally related to his way of looking at the world from a data driven approach.
side tracked… my biggest pet hate is advertising for ‘THE NEXT BEST’ Mascara/Shampoo/perfume etc etc with tiny little quotes at the bottom stating “41 out of 78 women agree”!!!! How can they sell it to the masses on TV as ‘the best’ if only just over half of the people sampled agreed?….. Grr.
Apologies, back on track. I also took a lot from his views on Incentives. Once you start analysing the true personal incentives we encounter in daily life it becomes an interesting task dealing with people.
Monetary Policy: I’ve always had an appreciation of money but resent being taxed on the interest of the tax on the tax, but don’t we all. I wanted to understand the system and it didn’t take too long to realise it is THE biggest corrupt system in today’s world.
I’m not into conspiracy theories… my thoughts
NWO: The rich looking after themselves. Its not pinkey and the brain wanting to rule the world.. the bankers and their chums have got very rich and they are going to be a little bit protective over that. Its just self preservation on their part so deal with it.
9/11: I’ve watched all the videos but there’s still too many questions for me to come to a conclusion as to what actually happened. I know that planes don’t disintegrate totally on impact so I’m still left asking where are the ones that crashed into the pentagon and flight 93. I also think that 3 buildings falling down due to fire alone is not a statistically sound judgment.
JFK: He was assassinated but so are most individuals who promote change. It is always the people who will lose out in the new state that are to blame for the death.
Princess Di: Very sad accident.
Moon landing: We were there and so were the Russians
UFO’s: The Nazi’s nearly perfected Stealth technology in WW2. Imagine what technology that’s out there flying now. Not little green men.
Aliens: There will be life on other planets but not in our solar system.
I’m not an anarchist; I’m just an average lad with a personal interest in understanding the World we live and ensure that I do the best I can to ensure my family is prepared for the next generation.
I think that’s enough for my first post. If you’ve read the whole thing welcome to my world.
Regards
Dan
