Hi there guys - [Short version - I am arranging a meet in the south-east - Chichester - Give me your email address if you haven't already if you wish to come]
As some of you may know I am trying to start a bit of a chapter initiative in the areas of Chichester, Southampton, Portsmouth and the surrounding smaller towns such as Bognor, Selsey, etc. For now, Brighton and Lewes have quite an established chapter so I am trying to appeal more to those to the west / north west of that area seeing as there is not much happening here. The people are here, in small numbers, but none of us are organized or doing much awareness work because we are simply not connected enough. I now have the beginnings of a mailing list, and as and when it comes, will turn over more organizational responsibility to those who wish to take it up - already have interest for Southampton - if you wish to do so just come and talk to me or Simon (TrulyFree)
So...
The initial plan is to set up a meet. It will be in Chichester because this is where most of the people I know who are interested will be and it is quite central to where I will be operating from. I think I can (maybe) get a venue reasonably cheap as well - we may even make a little night of it for those that can stay around, but perhaps it's better to do something during the day for those that have to catch a train or get home.
I am appealing to the forums before I arrange anything to gauge interest and spread awareness of this meet, anyone is welcome and I believe Simon will be coming to help out and show support.
I am thinking some when within the next two weeks on a weekend. Any feedback as to what days and times are best for you guys would be good. I will do what I can about a venue.
