Is anyone working on a non-commercial web-based media upload/management tool such that you can upload music, create artists, albums, assign genres, apply tags, etc. so it's all searchable?
Same for videos, icons, graphics, short animations/clips such that people can re-use them in videos, etc.?
There are some decent creative-commons type sites out there but I find them all somewhat confusing with the different licensing and sometimes weird payment schemes - it'd be much easier if we could just chuck all freely usable stuff in one place with a nice front-end to search it.
