As some of you may be aware, many chapters are taking part in local “Town Hall” meetings globally, typically occurring at least once a month in order for each chapter to engage with their local communities and demonstrate that they have an active presence of people who advocate the tenets of the movement: http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/joomla/index.php?option=com_content&...
This post is to announce that some members in Ipswich will be holding their own meetings once a month. As past experiences have demonstrated that often hiring a hall for movement-related events have not been entirely successful in Suffolk (due to lack of attendance), we’ll be demonstrating our presence in a more minimal fashion once a month in the town – occasionally meeting in somewhere like a coffeehouse or if the weather is holding up, perhaps a meet up in Christchurch park on a sunny day.
It would be good to see whether other chapters within East Anglia adopt a similar initiative. Currently, activism within our region has not been very continuous but at the very least, some of us are in a position to hold these small meetings once a month in order to demonstrate our presence as a movement.
The first date for a meeting in Ipswich will probably be in July. If anyone is interested in these informal once-a-month-meetings in Ipswich, contact Dale on the ZMUK website. Otherwise, if you are not local to Ipswich, please look up the chapter coordinators of each town on the UK site to establish contact and discuss this idea.
