Events

Myself and a few others are wondering if there are any upcoming events planned?
If we want to organise some ourselves, is there anything we need to make sure we do, sort if guidelines that would make it more effective.

events

Hi mate - I am doing a talk to the Humanists association of N.Ireland on Thursday 12th May, Malone lodge hotel, 8pm.
As for doing an event yourself, thats great. I would love to help if you can give me an idea what you are planning. We could arrange a meeting at a time that suits you. 2 weeks notice for meetings is best to give people a chance to attend.

suggestions

Hi Taibshe,
I managed to listen into the UK chapters discussion yesterday.
I take it there's a separate Belfast chapter discussion; if so, I didn't find it.
Part of the discussion focused on being more politically/protest active.
It seems to me that personal decisions as to how we spend our money and who we bank with are at this stage more important and might create an easier gradient of transition.
Finding ways to pressurise the banking system by opening up ethical bank accounts and closing our unethical ones seems a sensible way forward. Boycotting consumerism in all but the essentials.
Petitioning to reduce sweatshop labour.

It seems to me that a general consensus of approach needs to be outlined and carried out by all chapters the world over. People imitate by example; if enough people are creating a new paradigm example we stand a chance of succeeding through a quiet revolution.

z-day

Hi all - we need to find a venue for z-day a.s.a.p.

Black Box is booked up in March, so we need suggestions. Saturday 19th is probably the best date for it and it must be capable of screening ZMF, and a stage for some Q+A and live music afterwards. We have £235 to put towards hire for the day. (I bought 100 DVDs for £20 out of the proceeds from the last event)

meeting Sat 29th Jan

I will be in the Black Box cafe at 2pm on Saturday for an hour or two, if anyone wants to join me for a meeting following the success of ZMF on Monday night.
